Comments Thread For: Derevyanchenko on Jacobs: I Won't Be Denied, Belt Will Be Mine!

Undefeated Sergiy Derevyanchenko (12-0, 10 KOs) is very motivated to topple his sparring partner, Daniel Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs) - as they are set to collide for the vacant IBF world middleweight title. The fight takes place on Saturday, October 27 at the Hulu Theater from Madison Square Garden in New York. The bout will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

It will be interesting to see if Danny Jacobs can resurrect that version of himself which fought GGG. I believe he'll need to do so to have a chance of winning against Derevyanchenko.

"Derevyanchenko is being fast-tracked..." - what, the guy is 4 years in the pros, been in the WSB, seen everything, fought everyone and 32 already, fought Erislandy facking Lara 13 years ago, won his amateur world bronze medal 11 years ago, the guy is a veteran!

that version of Jacobs missed the IBF second day weigh in.

This time he must abide by the rules.

        I foresee a close decision.

Danny Jacobs hasn't looked impressive since he almost beat
(I thought he won) GGG. I wouldn't be shocked if Danny loses.

Meaningless belt, but the winner is more deserving of a shot at GGG than Saunders or Charlo.

If GGG beats Canelo its time to move up and fight Gilberto Ramirez to get a belt at 168

Derevyanchenko is a live one in this fight, but IMO what will help Danny is his pro experience. That and he's already been in several big events on a big stage. There's always a chance Derevyanchenko catches him at some point, but Danny has always exhibited a very high level of boxing skill in his fights I've watched. I'm leaning towards Jacobs getting a close UD here. Looking forward to a great fight.

I noticed slot of people in Jacobs last fight say he sort of driffs of in between rounds which could be a problem when it comes to fighting Devrychenko.
He will have to stay switched on all night.
Have you ever heard that he switches of some times?

My biggest concern for Jacobs is the 2nd day weigh-in! Without a big weight advantage, this becomes a 50/50 fight! Hard to judge Dervy! I saw him and Brian Carlos Castano and him vs. Taureano Johnson! 2 different fighters! I think it will be Jacobs by decision!
