I couldn't believe my ears, because that's not the Linares i've been watching for a good while haha. I know they have to sell the fight and hype the product but really, that's just a ridiculous statement and a lie to make their fighter Crolla look a bit better even in defeat.
He's a very decent fighter, that's about it. He can beat guys like Crolla who are basically Euro level or fringe world level but managed to pick up a world title.
He can look good on his day. People will say he give Loma a good fight and he did at times but ultimately he got stopped because he isn't on that level.

Every time I watch him he looks like he has solid skills and ability but doesn’t put it all together and let his hands go enough. When he threw against Loma he did great but he didn’t do it enough. To often he did nothing while Loma outworked him.

Linares is a f@cking Nostradumas too. Of course he would dominate 140. Who beats him, Prograis, Ramirez, Troyanovsky, Orozco?
They should just get rid of all these sub divisions anyway, Cruiserweight, Super Middleweight, Junior Middleweight, Junior Welterweight, Junior Lightweight, Junior Featherweight, Junior Bantamweight, Junior Flyweight. Boxing would be a lot more exciting with great matches ALL the time.
But its a good move for Linares because he isn’t beating Lomo in a rematch and would get punished by Mikey.

He got stopped by Demarco and some nobody journeyman in back to back losses. Doubt he could go 6 with Prograis. He would be running for his life up till the stoppage.

I honestly wish we could see a Loma/Linares rematch because up until the knockout the fight was pretty competitive. I doubt that Bob Arum will be anxious to make that happen which is unfortunate for Linares because he deserves those big fights. The guy had a killer stretch and was clearly "the" guy if not the second best fighter at lightweight before the loss.
If Linares were to get a big fight at 140 and win a world title he'll definitely be HOF material. But, I really hope a Linares Lomachenko rematch goes down soon lol
