Where in the article did it say that Canelo is going to use these gloves? It said he sparred with them and they were approved to be used in a fight by another boxer associated with GBP. That fight could be only a 4 rounder. Sanchez is right they shouldn't be used in a championship fight untill they have been tested properly. For all we know the padding could get thin after extended use by a top level fighter with power. Sanchez is doing his job protecting his fighter from possible injury. He's making sure that Canelo doesn't wear them if he decides to.

Untested, unused gloves do not belong in a World Championship bout!

Test them in spar session then in prelim if they prove out.

If GGG has never used them why should he be forced to wear them.

This was already addressed by Loeffler during the workouts on Sunday.

Said Nevada Commission (this past Saturday) had declined Canelo's desire to wear the new gloves since they hadn't even been tested yet.

I think what they are really worried about is that the padding may not hold up and Golovkin will get cut.

Can’t believe Canelo and his team actually tried to use gloves that have never been used in a boxing match before. That’s ridiculous for the biggest fight in boxing. They should have had other boxers wear them this year so there wouldn’t be any questions. I don’t think anyone knows what these gloves look like beside Canelo, his trainers and the NV athletic commission, that’s crazy. If something happened to these gloves during the biggest fight in boxing, it would be an embarrassment for the commission if they approved these gloves, just like last years scores with the officials that were assigned
