It's unfair, but I daresay that Uzcategui didn't help matters through not pressing charges against Lawson when he had the chance. If he had Lawson would probably be serving jail time right now.

I'm from Maryland originally, and am deeply embarrassed by the b.s. they've done here. Basically all this did was nothing much. Sends a bad message throughout the sport, and what a pathetic reply from their commission. I would imagine promoters will stay clear of the state FNO, since that's their stance. Not excuse for this.

Uzcategui doesn't have to press charges: the state of Maryland should have been the one doing it.

There's a lot of fake outrage in this thread. No one cared about this guy until they reinstated him. In fact, I think people forgot why he sucker punched him in the first place. Uzcategui (who seem to be a good guy btw) was hitting Dirrell after the bell repeatedly. That's not a justification for the uncle throwing a punch but it's not unheard of when emotions are running high for someone to do something dumb. He did something dumb and the commission punished him how they saw fit. I could care less if he got banned for life. However, I won't lose sleep because they reinstated him either.
