Comments Thread For: Porter: Danny Garcia Gets 'C' For His Performance Against Rios

Shawn Porter wasn't especially impressed by Danny Garcia's performance against Brandon Rios as he watched from a ringside seat six months ago. Porter expected a faster, sharper Garcia than the one he saw February 17 in Las Vegas. If Porter would've faced Rios that night, he is certain he would've stopped the former WBA lightweight champion earlier than the ninth round.

If that's a C, Porter gets an F for Granados.

The Rios that fought Garcia wouldve went 12 with Porter. Rios was game but Danny was rolling and letting his hands go. The Rios win was real nice in my opinion.

"I’m active. I just fought in February, I’m fighting again and, you know, I always tell people an active Danny Garcia is a dangerous Danny Garcia.”"

It says something about modern fighters when fighting two times in one year with a seven month gap between fights is considered "active".

rios was completely and utterly shot. just like guerrero and maliganggi. literally the only non shot guy garcia has beat at 147 has been some guy named samuel vargas? what a horrible run he's on.

I’m glad Porter watched the fight against Rios. Now you know, Garcia has power in the right hand AND with the left hook. And Rios was only TKO’ed by (2) fighters, Timothy Bradley after Teddy Atlas trained him to sit down more on his shots and Danny Garcia. Proceed with caution, and keep the hands up-LOL!

Porter is right. And don't give me that "Danny fights to the level of his competition doe" because he looked poor against Thurman too. Rios is totally shot and he still managed to win a few rounds against DSG. He's gonna need to bring his A game if he wants to beat Porter. Porter is not an easy night for anybody at 147 even Spence or Crawford.

Granados isn't a punk. And Granados is definitely a tougher fight than Rios
