  • Comments Thread For: Lewis Ritson vs. Francesco Patera EBU Clash on 10/13, Newcastle

Lewis Ritson will face Francesco Patera in a few weeks' time. The Newcastle lightweight will take on the Belgian for the vacant European title. Ritson is the outright British champion, having secured three successive defences in a short nine-month period. But after reigning domestically, the 24-year-old will look to move to the next level on October 13 at the city's Metro Radio Arena.

Was just about to post this, good fight at this stage for Ritson. Tatli vacated the belt and then Petit ran from his mandatory challenger spot to allow Patera in. Patera split 2 fights on the road against Tatli and went the distance with Mendy. I have a very hard time seeing Patera being able to win this fight, but he's a durable dude who's never been knocked down so it will be interesting to see what Ritson can do to him. Really looking forward to this, Newcastle should be JUMPING again

Difficult to know from the TV but it looked like a hell of an atmosphere at Ritson's last appearance there and he came over very well in the interview as well. He has a great story and he's exciting to watch. Be good to see him go all the way.
