Wilder as a champ wants the big fights and deserves the big paydays that come with big fights. Granted Fury is a huge obstacle for Wilder to overcome but a fight in the USA could give Wilder an edge. Joshua seems willing to pick his opponents carefully and sit back and take his time which means Joshua is tentative and afraid. Wilder has big balls and a small brain but that is boxing and always has been. Dumb guys willing to fight.

If it was the Klitschko Fury I'd still think the same, just take longer for Wilder to reach him and more chance of Fury winning which I don't totally discount.

Strange that, when we all know some FACTS:

Fact 1. The writing was in the wall that Wilder was afraid when he first refused to go to UK for AJ Parker. A clear sign of how this would unfold.

Fact 2. Wilder and his ‘team of advisors’ refused to meet Hearn in NY when Hearn asked to meet to begin talks to make the fight. They didn’t even bother to show up lol. Another clear sign this was gonna be a duck.

Fact 3: Wilder shot his mouth on social media (not how professionals negotiators are usually held lmao) about big money so Hearn said “sure, show us the terms please” and they said “nope, agree to it all just based on the money. Agree before seeing the terms.” Another clear sign it was a duck.

Fact 4: Hearn sent a written offer to Finkel et al and go zero response. Not a word, e mail, call, nada. This despite the fact that Wilder and Finkel knew Hearn’s nd Joshua were under a lot of pressure and a tight timeline from the WBO. They ran the clock down. Another obvious sign they wanted no part of it.

Fact 5: There is a written AND SIGNED offer in front of Wlder right now. He gets massive money and a Wembley date in 2019. What do we get in response “I’ll never fight Joshua!” Yeah, tell us something new you phoney.

He’s definitely deluded and he’s probably lost the boundary line between fantasy (Bronze Bomber persona) and reality where he’s an amiable guy.

But I’m beginning to blame his handlers more than he for the risk aversion. Maybe i’ll Be proved wrong but he gives me the impression that he’s game.

I agree that his handlers have worked him a bit here. They absolutely don't want a Brit (Hearn) making big moves into the US market and are possibly using Wilder to scupper Hearn's plans.

They flat out didn't even respond to a written offer to fight, held onto it for over a week, and when they did finally say something it was AFTER the WBO gave AJ an ultimatum. There was simply no will to make the fight from Finkel / Wilder, but Wilder may have been a pawn in this. That said, he's pricing himself out at the moment - he has that written AND SIGNED offer to fight at Wembley in 2019, we get nothng but "I'll NEVER fight Anthony Joshua" but nobody calls him on it. It's mad that people think Joshua is the one not making an effort - they held off making the Povetkin fight and tried like fook to get Wilder and his entourage to talk to them. Nothing but silence or screaming bs on social media from them, very unprofessional.

I'm hopeful it happens 2019. Widler should beat Fury. Wilder has a good chin and Fury is a bit feather fisted anyway. Wilder just needs to catch Fury once and he should close it out.

After that he has more bargaining power with Joshua, which is ok. I think the fight gets made, but Wilder is making it very difficult.

I can't argue with the fact that he has raised his profile the last wee while, but it's also a fact that he has done it on the Joshua 'franchise'. Anyway, he's a good egg (looking after his daughter) and is only doing the best with what he has - which is not insubstantial. Good luck to him, I hope he batters Fury, but the buck stops with AJ.
