Rosewood htown: I appreciate the props on the post, and I am not offended at all. You have to remember the Oscar isn't as young as he used to be and if it takes him a year to heal, to give the fans the best fight possible than so be it. Oscar has always given some of his best perfoemances after long layoffs. I myself was a little disappointed that we will have to wait, but if thats what it takes to give the fans the best fight possible, than so be it. Another thing that you have to remember is that if they fight it will be at 154lbs. Oscar has already said that if they fight it will have to be at 154 and no catch weight, he said that if Floyd wants the fight thats the way it will have to be and that he;s not gonna fight at a catch weight and give Floyd any type of advantages. Floyd will have no choice but to agree he is not gonna call the shots with Oscar. Oscar will dictate the terms and theres nothing Floyd will be able to do. Floyd needs Oscar, Oscar doesn't need Floyd. One more thing he will have to come up to 154, when he is already a small welterweight, 154 is Oscars comforatable weight. I'm not ignorant enough to think that Floyd can't win, but people also need not be ignorant enough to think that he can't lose. Oscar has fought some of the toughest competition at every weight, and Floyd is not just gonna walk through him and make him look ******. Say what you want, but I think that Oscar is being smart about this, and people are just pissed because it is not what they want right now. Like I said I would rather waut the year and see them both fight a there best. On to Margarito. I'm not saying Floyd couldn't win, but I do think that this is probably one of Floyds toughest challenges at this weight based on the size and strength differential and I think that Floyd and his people know that. My problem with this is that he says he'll fight anyone for the right money, well the money is there for the second time. If Floyd wants to be ranked with the best of all time he needs to be fighting the toughest competiotion consistantly. He has been coasting along for long enough. When Marg is offering 8 million and he is mentioning wanting to fight the winner of Vargas Mosley or Kostya Tsyzu that starts to make me wonder. Honestly I really don't care to see him fight Mosely or Vargas at this point in there career because that because I don't think it means as much, and I am a Vargas fan but I know he isn't what he used to be. I have a hard time calling Floyd p4p#1 over guys like Winky based on there level of competition they have faced. I think Floyd is probably the most skilled fighter in the world right now, but until he fights the Margarito's, Cotto's,Haton's etc. etc. of the boxing world that doesn't make him p4p. I don't think beating an old beat down Gatti, Brusels, Ndous, and the other tomatoe cans he can be considered p4p(I'm not saying that he doen't have potential to be) Everyone always talks about Castillo and Corrales, but how long ago was that. What has he done recently. I don't give a damn who he fights but he needs to man up and take on all the best in the division. I don't even want to hear about him fighting Zab either, because we all know that Zab is talented but mentally he is never in the game and it doesn't mean **** to me when Baldomir beat him. I've always thought Zab was overrated,( talk about someone who has never beat quality opposition) this is the same ting Floyd is saying about Marg. Floys just knew Zab was a safer fight. I'm not a Floyd fan by any means but if steps up and fights these types of fighters I will give him his props. He doesn't even have to win every fight, but at least I could respect him for manning up and fighting all the elite competition. It wouldn't be so bad if he diudn't run his mouth so much, but if he's gonna do that he needs to make these fights happen. Agree with me or not you have to at least respect what I am saying and know that I am not just spewing ignorant bull****.
naw playa you are not spitting out bull crap...you made valid points in your post on this thread..that 154 **** is the only thing Im afraid of...it would be tough for the young playa pretty boy to fight up there...the only chance he has is to out point boxers..that he can do...dlh has a chance to out point him as well as ko him, if he can hit him....Zab was for the people...thats it..to tell the truth i still to this believe zab has the best chance at ever defeating pretty boy...speed, quickness, power is what he packs...a peanut brainer is also what he packs...
DLH is a pu$$y.....not fighting until 07 is ******....he is simply running from that ass whoopin that Pretty Boy has for him...then if he loses in 07 he's going to use that laid off **** to his advantage...sorry DLH fans, but your boy is a pu$$y....somebody tell DLH, we want our money back from those trash ass fights he produces....
How does taking a long layoff make someone a *****? It isn't like he is ducking anybody, he is just taking time to heal injuries. You have no clue what your talking about. Your calling De La Hoya a ***** because he is a former model and pop star.
Nobody in the past ten years has been as willing to take on top opposition as De La Hoya has been. In fact, I will make that a challenge to you, TRY to name someone in the past ten years that has been as willing to take on top guys as De La Hoya.
Let me guess, you consider Mike Tyson to be courageous?
