The first fight that I caught the end of, the guy fell to the floor after hurting his own hand against the other guy’s head!

Are you talking about BKB? I haven't heard anything about them in years. Not sure they even have shows anymore.

caught the first event, not the most skilled boxers, but a lot of fingers to the eyes. The most interesting thing was that they can grab the back of the opponents head and wail away. I think Antonio Tarver was part of the PBP team and didn't know that was legal in bare knuckle haha

with bare knuckles you would expect it to be more brutal/entertaining, but it only allowed for more accidental finger pokes, boxing gloves and rules makes the fight more entertaining.
