Are you seriously comparing Mayweather v Joshua and Wilder ? Mayweather is a PPV star, who Gurantees high numbers. That deal was no risk for Showtime. CBS Financed that deal, because it put a dent on HBO's Boxing Output and meant Showtime would have the biggest star in world boxing.

Joshua-Wilder is no where near that. With Canelo-GGG 2 in September and Mcgregor in October another PPV in November it would seem foolish for SHO to gurantee $50M.

Finkle and Warren were going to put the fight on BT which would have been unacceptable. Sky/BT in the UK is similar to HBO/Showtime in the US.

When taking into account Las Vegas Judges and natural American Bias towards Wilder winning in America. It's the correct decision to have this fight in the UK from Joshua and Hearn's perspective. Less money for hometown advantage is worth it
