Really? 168 is hardly death row.

But does he truly have the resume of a great fighter? Maybe yes, maybe no, maybe somewhere in between. The obvious argument for Golovkin is his consistency over a long period. His handlers proudly point out that a victory over Canelo...

when discussing TRUE greatness, only one thing counts.....

so, this is the ONLY relevant point in that article

..... when Golovkin finally did face an opponent who was considered elite – Jacobs – he struggled, escaping with a close unanimous decision.....

      beating 20 cans = whoop-de-shht

and he has little/no time left to enhance his legacy if he loses to the fat red kid in September

way too poorly lit this article...

especially the beginning of his career comes too short here.
Golovkin should subordinate himself to a crazy promotion ideas of the in Germany then gone bankrupt universe box promotion. When he did not want that and had terminated his promotion contract there, he was hunted down by the lawyers for years and also boycotted. the Hermann brothers (one was a lawyer) and only the wba (Oliver Gomez) in coopreation with a Panama promoter (Rogelio Espino) and a German Matchmaker (Mario Pokowietz) were fearless of Universum Promotion and helped him a lot to become WBA interim Champ. The beginning was very difficult for him without a big promoter.

Wrong. GGG has the available opponents to enhance his legacy, only because he is now old which is the only reason they are willing to fight him now. However, the fact that he is already old and declining means he does not truly still have time to enhance his legacy. Declining fighters typically don't enhance their legacies, they decline their legacies. Ones who started with elite hand speed are usually the only ones who still get big wins past their primes sometimes, and GGG was never that. In his prime he had just enough speed to land his massive power shots regularly. Now, he does not seem to anymore. That's the death nail for a career at the top level. But, maybe if he moves to 168, a slower division, combined with getting some explosiveness back from not having to cut as much weight, combined with being able to put on more muscle to enhance his already great power, then he can still enhance his legacy at this age. But I think he's getting too old for 160.

Man, some boxing fans sound like the dumbest people alive. GGG clears out MW 160 and no one that had a name would even talk about looking his way until he was well past 30. For years the top guys at 160 ignored him. Wonder why. Funny, not a single person Charlo beat even makes it five rounds with prime ggg.

Canelo, considered a p4p fighter aged him to 35, took PED, had judges in pocket, home cooking, big fight experience, and still coukdnt beat him, needed yet another controversy.

Yet people who know little about boxing, just like to clown others because of their miserable lives, sit and throw asinine terms about bums when talking about fighters who make it to the top ten or even 20 in the world at their weight class.

In your job you’re unlikely to be the top ten in your own building.

            Just shut up.

A shame really, he'd have to beat Canelo then face Saunders at the very least - Charlo and Andrade are waiting in the shadows as is Jacobs for a rematch.

And let's be real, nothing will change the fact that Canelo lit that boy up like a Christmas tree so he really needs the rematch for any legacy at all.

He needs at least two HUGE wins in superfights to even discuss any legacy. He was Ko-ing a mixture of cans and ex 154 lbers. As soon as he stepped up to face B class opponents he's not knocking them out anymore. As a boxing fan, I have seen that movie before a million times.

Lemieux and Geale were elite middleweights but he doesn't get any props for those wins.
