Comments Thread For: Ward Hopes 'The Contender' Changes Fighters' Lives, Create Fans

By Keith Idec - Andre Ward was brought to tears during filming of season five of "The Contender." As the new host of the relaunched reality series, Ward developed deeply personal relationships with the show's participants, some of whom drew raw emotion out of the retired two-division champion. An appreciative Ward hopes viewers become as attached to these fighters as he did while shooting the show for a month earlier this year in Los Angeles...

The first series with Gomez, Ishe Smith, Mora & Manfredo was brilliant. Made me a fan of Gomez for life.

Hoping this gets picked up in the U.K. I’ll be interested to see what advice Ward has to give throughout.

Say want you like about Ward but he's obviously a smart guy with his head screwed on. He also knows just how lucky he was to catch his break. Winning always helps. Luck is only a part of it as he obviously worked tremendously hard to get where he is.

It won't. These ******s will order a Runweather fight for 100 dollars and say after the fight see that's why I don't watch boxing. Its always some boring long decision, no knockouts. Thank sprayweather for part of the mma cage crap craze
