Weeks is a very qualified ref. So it was Abel's personal issue with Weeks rather than Weeks as a ref. Weeks will let fighters fight. Like he let Maidana fight against Floyd in the first fight. But neither GGG nor Canelo is the type of fighter that would benefit from Weeks style so I dont see the issue

Benjy Esteves Jr is one the kind of ref's, like Steve Smoger, that can be "bullied" by the boxers . Undersized, cant physically control the match, get in between the boxers, like the bigger ref. Like Smoger, he's very lenient. So often boxers will ignore commands, and do whatever the heck they want .

I dont know if this is what Sanchez had in mind when agreeing to Esteves ...but this could be a rough fight.

Its been awhile but Im gonna have go back see Broner Vs. Mag. see how he handled that fight???
