Only fanboys accuse others of being fanboys... Povetkin is a genuinely class fighter (yep, probably still drug assisted, but boxing has a problem that will not be exposed for years), otherwise he wouldn’t be as high in the rankings, having actually fought some good boxers... Unlike Wilder. So what you’re saying exposes a lack of boxing knowledge. Wilder has fought one good fighter, but he waited til the guy was 40. It would be poetic justic if AJ did that to Wilder, but as it is I see the fight happening next year.
I rate Wilder, not as highly as you, but I think he will test AJ to a degree, and might last the distance. However, the thing that really irritates me about Wilder fans is that now AJ has collected 75% of the belts, while Wilder has been fighting in car parks, they have now immediately jumped on the “ducking bandwagon” because Wilder makes up some spurious crap about contracts.
I despise it, because it’s nonsense. AJ is not 40 fights into a career without fighting a world class fighter. He has not ducked someone, with the help of the sanctioning body who holds his belt, who should be mandatory all day long. In fact, he knocked that guy out. Whyte would give Wilder problems, so Wilder has ducked him and gone after a Fury that can never get back to his best.
AJ fighting Povetkin is not an easy option, Povetkin is a roided up power puncher, and the fact is Wilder vs AJ will happen, and AJ wants it to happen. Povetkin would knock out Wilder.
