Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez Still Has Work To Do To Clean Up His Image

By Michael Rosenthal - No one can blame Canelo Alvarez for wanting the drug thing to go away. Alvarez tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol in February, a few months before his scheduled rematch with rival Gennady Golovkin. The Mexican star blamed two failed tests on tainted meat but he was suspended for six months nonetheless, which resulted in the cancelation of the fight. Alvarez has since enrolled in the year-round Voluntary Anti-Doping Association program and agreed to fight Golovkin on September 15...

Canelo will do all the right things to clean up his image, perhaps even defeat GGG convincingly.

Then, one day, he will get caught again. Or, if he is smarter, he will retire just in time.

All he is is a good boxer, unlike GGG who is a winning personality because he has natural charm and good nature.
Clenelo is a personality black hole if you ask people who have met him, he cheated with drugs, he cheated with 155lbs gingerweight , that's something GGG and great champs of past never did.

Hes a very effective boxer but that's all he is

Alvarez's "plausible explanation" is only that to supporters, like the writer of this piece. This lightweight article will not help that's for sure.

First, he has to be beating Golovkin. That'll at least help erase the narrative that he needed PEDs. Maybe not completely but it's a step.

if he loses to Golovkin, he's never going to hear the end of it. Especially if he gets KOed. His critics will bring up the PEDs and question his entire career.

Wasn't Canelo 3 times over the limit of eating tainted meat ? His 1st test was way higher than eating tainted beef.

                Quit making stuff up now!
I know you're a Canelo hater but no need to make things up!

boxing writers are milking the chit out of this fight.

stop writing articles about nothing. Nothing has happened in the last few weeks on this fight but we got a new article every ***ing day about what ruben guerrero or some other ******* thinks

If ever they’re hoping GGG age has gotten him it’s not now. Because it won’t be enough to I get another robbery win.
