It's Keith Idec he's generally bias when it comes to fight's affiliated with certain promoters.

He puts the "WWE" reference in there knowing all too well that boxing "confrontations" at pressers have been staged for years. This is nothing new to the sport.

He's just trying to find a way to try and throw some hate on the buildup. I say let him (and others) hate. He'll have to kiss a*s in the end, like they always do.

We've seen this story/behavior play out too many times.

I saw the video of the weigh in. Pretty weak and staged.

Staged AF but who cares. Boxing fans need to lighten up sometimes, UFC does this all the time and it gets people talking. This is the HW Championship of the freaking World!! Ali used to hype his fights to the sky with cringey banter. Why not have some fun in the build-up.

Mayweather vs McGregor press conferences were staged and everyone had a good time. Just shut the fuck up and be a boxing fan.

They have little interest in seeing a Joshua v. Wilder. It seems they are only concerned with worshipping images of Joshua in men's underwear. We gotta stop the nonsense.

Hopefully Wilder and Fury fight, then that winner can pressure Joshua into a fight. We deserve an undisputed HW champ.
I'm 22 years old and I've only been watching boxing since 2012, but I've just recently noticed how delusional boxing "fans" can be when it comes to defending a fighter they like, for example, the AJ cult. I'm curious, have people always been like this, or is this some kind of new phenomenon that came about with the social media age?

This is just my opinion but, I think people have generally always been like this however things have become MORE INTENSE over the last 10 years or so. I'm not too much older than you, but I think the Mayweather/Manny rivalry, coupled with the emergence of social media made things worse off. The echo-chamber is a real thing that effects thoughts and opinions. Once upon a time, writers wielded much more influence over whether a fighter would be pressured into a tough fight. The pressure has all but disappeared in this era. People have "their own" opinions now lol

Once the Mayweather v. Manny train got started up, people became much less interested in looking at the the context of a fight and just started to defend "their guy". I'll be honest, I didn't really encounter that stuff until I started going on the boxing videos on youtube. I grew up in Detroit, basically an all black city, and I recall Oscar being the favorite against Floyd in my community (mostly because most people are casuals ad they only knew of Oscar lol). It wasn't just about race with the older guys in my family/neighborhood. However, once I started visiting youtube and sites like this (although I consider this forum better than the others), I started encountering the blind fandom that has only gotten worse over the years. It used to just be reserved for the top guys, but now it seems like every fight buildup takes on a Mayweather/Manny like tone lol (Just pick your side and defend it to the death!) It's somewhat exhausting. Especially on a forum like this that has the more knowledgable fan posting.

To be fair, there are some very weird offensive racial and cultural comments around here, so I get people wanting to defend "their own" to an extent, but I feel like it should have limits. You can't just sellout and be a complete tool because you like a fighter.

                    How dumb are you, really?

Clearly this was just some friendly ***** talking to get some hype going.

This wasn't supposed to he some "I hate you and am going to **** you up" type confrontation.

Surely you have enough neurons in that pea sized brain to understand this.
