GGG landed a few good shots to the head but Canelo got the hell out of dodge as soon as he was hit. Canelo knew he wouldn't withstand too many of those in succession. The shots that GGG hit him with were hard but I think you're right, none of them were directly to Canelo's jaw and almost zero were to the body. Triple G definitely has the power to stop Canelo and the reverse is also true. I think GGG has better power AND better ability to withstand a punch but Canelo is powerful and can withstand huge shots also.

I predict Golovkin wins this fight but Canelo has many things in his favour.

He was able to absorb the power by eating those beef tacos and move more than he did for any other fight. Without those tacos and if he really tries to fight this time like he promised his fans, let’s see how that works out for him in the rematch

Once he started fighting good opponents (Jacobs and Canelo) all of the sudden he is getting old and slower. I call it BS he look "PHENOMENAL" vs Martyrossian a no hoper caliber. But since he is facing Canelo let find all kinds of excuses to save face in the brink of an imminent GGG defeat.
          Gotta love the revisionist's here.
Lemieux & Murray were both #4 MW's when they fought GGG. Geale was #5. David was a current champ, Geale a former 2-time champ, & Murray fought tooth & nail with Sergio in a close decision loss. Those opponents shouldn't be so easily dismissed & deserve some respect.

Yet some call Charlo a killer? The highest he's ranked is #4 depending on what list you look at & others call Andrade a very tough match-up (which I agree with) but he's only #9 MW.

A loss by either & let a year or two pass by & they'll also be lumped in the same category. DJ just squeaked out a win against a SWW in Sulecki but somehow he's still considered one of the top MW's? I agree, because it's very hard for fighters to have their A-game every time out. That to me is what has always seperated Golovkin from the pack, not his KO's. It's that he never takes rounds off & always brings it no matter the opponent.

I don't claim his resume is necessarily stacked, but he fought top guys when they were willing to get in the ring with him. He gave up money simply to make the Jacobs match happen, now fights Canelo twice & was signed up to fight BJS if this one wasn't made. Golovkin is doing more than so many others out there, & he's 36! A lot of other champs at this age get the pass to go after money. Let's just be consistent.

Some would say it's harder & perhaps more of an accomplishment to dominate the same division for almost a decade now. I know you're trying to reference the Ward fight but that would mean he'd have passed up on the Canelo fight (& now the re-match too) for what? Your respect? What big fights exactly? Please tell us what big money he'd have earned if taken on Andre? Then after? He'd certainly not have come back down in weight so he'd be languishing in the SMW division & people would be calling him to move to 175. Tougher tests? Yes, I do agree, but that doesn't lessen the tests he has taken on at MW & doing so for quite awhile now. Let's also not write off his future just yet. I still think he has a couple more years left depending on how he looks next month.

Canelo "The Conqueror" , in his 1st fight at 160 has the career middleweight & reigning middleweight champion begging for mercy!

GGG-"Please Please Please Canelo, I beg you , Please Please Please , don't make my head spin like the exorcist & don't make my head pop up like a P.E.Z. dispenser and stand right in front of me with your hands behind your back & put your chin up in the air for me , so I can have a chance to land a punch, once again Canelo Please Please Please."🙏

He took the punches well. I never saw him stunned. Ggg took canelos punches really good too so I’m expecting much of the same in the rematch no one is knocking the other out

Seriously what fight were you watching? It was a close competitive fight that the vast majority had ggg winnng. It’s funny how you hide behind the first fight at 160 bull sh it when he fought chavez jr at 164 and made up his own weight class to avoid the MW division when ggg was prime. That’s not a coincidence but you are blinded and a hater

He and Abel can say all they want about doing that, but as soon as he gets countered by Canelo, he's going to end up like the first fight and be hesitant to throw as much. There's a reason why GGG wasn't attacking him while he had him on the ropes. I bet on GGG the first fight but gotta go with Canelo this time, Canelo could adjust and change his style while GGG can't. And I really can't stand Canelo but you can't bet with your heart.
First, you're right he won't put on more pressure...impossible to do. He was almost running into Canelo's counters when Saul would stop back-peddling to pot shot him coming in.

Second, I wish people would stop parroting this BS. Was he selective? Sure, at times, but most of the time he was throwing what he could before Canelo would scramble out of the corner straight running to the next corner.

Here's a couple of gifs from the 11th & 12th rounds. I picked those two rounds 'cause those are ones that many think Canelo won. I can actually see that in some minds because GGG simply abandoned all defense trying to RUN Saul down. He was trying to make a fight & time was slipping away. Go look at the 10th round when Golovkin positioned his head right in front of Canelo like a goat (ala JCCjr or Monroe) trying to get Canelo to engage. Some should go back & watch the fight when they claim GGG wasn't throwing more than jabs. It's just tough to throw & land power shots when your opponent is doing everything he can to get away from the pressure!
