  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Not Concerned Clenbuterol Will Taint Canelo's Legacy

Oscar De La Hoya isn't worried that this clenbuterol controversy will permanently damage Canelo Alvarez's legacy. Alvarez has encountered considerable backlash since the Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended him six months for twice testing positive for clenbuterol in February. Those failed tests caused the cancelation of his middleweight championship rematch against Gennady Golovkin on May 5 and created doubt about whether Alvarez has been a clean fighter during his ascent to superstardom.

Canelo will go down as the guy who STILL got his ass kicked while on the juice and oh yeah completely schooled by Floyd. Biggest hype job in boxing history.

Would you really believed his alibi? I mean he is a professional boxer and his diet is on a strict regime, meaning all the food he eats and even the water he drinks is examined and screened by his dieticians. Alvarez is also not a newbie who doesn't know what to eat. Sure there is history has shown that a great performance, casuals will forget or forgive.

just shows the corruption in boxing. shrugged off the ban and hes back fighting in a few months. in some sports he'd never be competing again

It already has. Just like wins and losses, PED cheats are in the books too. People will always have questions about his ability as a clean fighter. The clen case showed it was either his ******ity or he was dirty.
Hell, a few fighters have not been caught and many people talk like they were. Mayweather and Pacquiao for example.
