Hopefully heavyweight boxing writer Dan Rafael writes up a report on this soon!

It sounds like Murata's side didn't want to split the purses 50-50, which is what the deal was originally supposed to be before Murata fought N'dam the first time.

Still looks bad on Murata's part. We probably end up with Brant vs Papot or Kamil Szeremeta but I'd love for this to end up with Rob Brant vs Maciej Sulecki for the vacant title.

Yeah, especially at a time when duckers are getting shamed pretty good. I guess the money thing may be a decent excuse.
It seems like Murata will get killed if he fights the Canelo GGG winner.

Top Rank must not have any faith in Murata to allow themselves to be outbid for such a small amount.

Even if you say they are shooting for the GGG/Canelo winner, neither of the two would fight again in 2018.

I understand that Brant had to wait longer for his shot after the N'Dam rematch, but that was ordered by the WBA due to the controversial decision & not sure how they could change the split from 70/30 to 50/50 unless TR actually agreed to it prior. Hard to penalize your champ twice don't ya think? Bad decision & then robbed in the ordered split? Guess Bob thought they'd work out a deal rather Brant passing up on the match-up. The purse bid was for only $200k, which he now gets half of while I have to believe that 30% of what TR offered in negotiations had of been more than $100k?

                    1 CANELO 49-1-2
                    2 BRANT 23-1-0
                    3 O'SULLIVAN 28-2-0
                    4 PAPOT 22-0-0
                    5 SZEREMETA 17-0-0
                    6 MADIEV 11-0-1
                    7 SULECKI 26-1-0

Probably end up being Papot who's last 3 fights were at SWW while Brant was just in the WBSS at SMW! Looks like a total mismatch although Sulecki has also fought at SWW recently but at least we've seen he has some skills.
