Nothing funny about it Larry, in amateurs he couldn't juice because of PED tests, now Crawford is roided to the gills so he can beat all of them.

Look at how many great pro fighters Mexico has produced.
How many of them were Olympic medalists?

But here's the thing: the amateurs are extremely competitive. There are so many talented and skilled fighters who never turn professional, that's a fact.
Check this fight out, Errol Spence Jr. vs. Sapiyev--- although this isn't the guy he lost to in the Olympics, this is the dude that beat him at Worlds 2011 (and he was a hell of an amateur boxer):

It just goes to show, the American amateur system is very weak. Our fighters all have so much talent, but aren't brought up well compared to other countries. Only in the professionals do our guys really shine, because they probably start earning money to provide better coaching, training, dieting, and so forth...
tldr; American amateur boxing lacks funding to provide proper training and support. Only once fighters become Professional and stand to gain lots of money do they start getting the support they need to become greater fighters.
But man were the 2006 national tournaments stacked with talent. You had Crawford, DSG, Mikey Garcia, Thurman, Porter, Jacobs, Andrade, GRJ, etc.

you cannot compare
because boxers do not physically age well with time
most decorated amateurs start early, but physically over peak by the time they reach the pros
lomachenko is a rare exception
crawford is in his peak, best condition now

Olympic pedigree doesn't always define a fighter. I mean look at Audley Harrison, lol.
Beating up an old LP at WW and Kell Brook at WW after he fought at 160 and returned from orbital fracture (and was 4-4 after 8 rounds before the ww-turned-mw gassed from excess muscle) proves very little. I am FAR from sold on Errol. In fact I think hes there for the taking.
Thurman, Danny, and Shawn P are C and maybe C+ fighters. Errol is B- so he'll beat those three. I cannot see how Errol beats TC though - who is at least B+ (conquering LW and JWW in dominant fashion) whereas Errol is almost 30 and still working on his 1st division.
