This guys career is basically MADE for hollywood! In that rodriguez fight, when the ref comes up to him and checks out his swollen eye, **** like that is what they usually put in boxing movies.
Hopefully in like 10 years MAX they make a movie about this guy. So many great fights. Soo many FOTYs. Such a profound impact on the sport. I know he's changed the way i watch boxing, and im probably not speaking for myself.
A guy like that needs some recognition, or else his awsome career is gonna be gone in like 40 years.
It kinda motivates me to go to flim school, so that if nobody else is gonna make the movie, i will. lol
Hopefully never, but in Hollywood there seems to be an overwhelming sensation for mediocrity.
I think this is a great idea, at least considering how much it seems like hollywood seems to be running out of ideas... Its been a year full of remakes: The Hills have Eyes, The Omen, Superman Returns etc. I think an Arturo Gatti movie would be a nice original idea, may i also add Johnny Tapia, and Bernard Hopkins to the list?

Great idea!
This idea needs to be pitched to studio's. With all the action, this could do well at the box office.
Actually, I think the fact that he never beat a great boxer, and the fact that he will never be considered "great" should be an aspect of the movie.
It could be a sad movie about how he never made it to that "great" status that he wanted so, so, so bad, and all of his heart and determination, and how popular he was, but just never really that good.
Sport movies don't always have to have happy endings, you know.
