Comments Thread For: Canelo: Golovkin Can't Change His Style, I'll Remove All Doubt!

Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) is planning to throw a lot of combinations, in every round, when he challenges WBC, WBA, and IBO middleweight world champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs) in their anticipated rematch.

I don't know why some people think Golovkin can't adjust to Canelo's style. The guy had nearly 400 amatuer fights and is yet to defeated as a professional. Surely he can add a new wrinkle to his game against a style he's probably already fought before. We'll see what happens but I see Golovkin unloading more this time around.

Ggg can def go to the body more and be more aggresive if/when canelo goes to the ropes... What ggg cant do is improve his speed and reflexes at this point in his career. I believe speed and lack of being able to stop canelo from landing will be the difference

that is exactly right, just like I said from the start

Golovkin will be exactly the same, especially after the first few rounds

and I also said that Canelo does not need to change much, just add to/tweak the gameplan they used in the first fight

more punches sure, and tailor the combinations that worked

I am absolutely positive that the fat red kid will lite that boy up like a christmas tree

don't know how people can't see it coming

because he fights every opponent the exact same way

we have never seen anything new from Golovkin for years, just the opposite..... whereas Canelo improves every single fight

the only change to Golovkin's style came against Jacobs/Canelo..... and that is because Golovkin's style was inhibited..... he did not adjust, he did what he could

your suggestion that he can simply " unload more " will get him into trouble, he did everything he could the first time around

plus, he has a poor corner

            I doubt it

no way did he simply forget to work the body..... he did what he could under the circumstances..... little/nothing will change

Not much GGG can do at this point. Canelo has the power and combinations he must respect. Canelo has always had suspect stamina, so it'll be interesting to see if he can in fact throw more throughout the fight. Doubt it. But I give him the edge nonetheless.

That's odd, i've never seen Canelo change his style either, hence why he struggles against anyone that can move.

Both guys are fairly one dimensional. It's just people don't realise it with Canelo because he has more of a tidy slick boxing style, so they think he's versatile. He isn't.

I gotta agree with him. I thought GGG was gonna win the first fight and when it was over I scored it a draw. I think Canelo wins the rematch and in a somewhat convincing fashion. Canelo was pretty amazing making GGG miss. I kind of hope im wrong...

The ONLY thang that whips GGG is Old man time.

If GGG hasn’t gotten old overnight he will be more aggressive and calculating with his shots. He may not show hostility outwardly but inwardly he’s burning and he will lite up BigAssRed and kick him so hard he’ll be wearing his ass for a hat!!!

BigAssRed is lying about throwing more shots he really means to say he will RUN MORE! He is just blowing , like one said he has nearly 400 Amateur fights so what does short stump have to give him trouble? Nothing GGG hasn’t seen.

If I am concerned it’s that old man time thang. That’s what got the Krusher Saturday nite.
