I honestly turned on the HBO fight and put the sound up because the Berto/Devon fight was so bad. I'm glad they did a solid number.

I wonder if this means Berto/Spence in December.

Good numbers for past-it former champions, whom casuals probably never heard of.

No. The main event averaged 1,193,000 million viewers and peaked at 1,266.000. The overall card averaged at 941,000.

The potential for big numbers is there for PBC on FOX. If you put Spence on there now, or a Mikey Garcia or a Deontay Wilder, you will get pretty damn good ratings. Wilder seems to have become a bigger star from a few years ago when he was fighting Arreola and Washington on FOX.

And he was doing 2.0-2.5 million then.

Um, one fight was on Showtime and the other was on FOX. What did you expect? Showtime has like around $23-25 million subscribers, and FOX is in the homes of like 100 million people. You can downplay Wilder's ratings vs Ortiz all you want, but it was very impressive. No one breaks a million on SHO anymore, and he did. And he was the last one to do it before the Ortiz fight.

Wilder on FOX now can absolutely hit the 3-4 million mark. If the opponent is perceived to be a threat, he could do BIG numbers. Thurman/Garcia was touted as a great match up and those two were on every news station and debate show and that led to a peak over 5 million viewers. Wilder vs say Ortiz rematch probably hits that number or gets close to it.

If you build it, they will come.
