      I was never massively impressed with Rigo anyway. His win over Donaire was good but he was arguably starting to decline. The rest of his wins were against fighters ranked outside the top 20 and even some of them were dropping him. Never doubted his skills or abilities, but it has to be proven at a good level. Great amateur, but i was never convinced he was anything special in the pro game.

      Also, he might have been avoided sometimes but he didn't help himself either in terms of value. He was given good televised slots, like on the Canelo v Cotto undercard and he absolutely stunk the place out.

      I don't think the Loma fight is a reflection on Rigo's ability though. Loma was simply too big and too good. It was always going to be a tough ask. Quitting like that wasn't a good look though.
