Never really gave this much thought.

I do however believe Floyd is the longest reigning lineal champ at 147.

Mayweather was the longest reigning welterweight champ in history. Trinidad was the 2nd longest reigning but defended his title far more often. Trinidad had 15 successful world welterweight title defenses of which he won 12 by KO. He was not the lineal welterweight champ. Welterweight was split all to hell at that time with nobody even close to being the lineal welterweight champ.

He won the lineal with the De La Hoya win though. I think Tito still had the longest individual reign with 6 years and 9 months to Mayweather's 5 years and 4 months. Henry Armstrong had the most defenses however. He defended 19 times in less than three years. Crazy.
