Comments Thread For: Ken Porter is not concerned with going up against Angel Garcia

On September 8th former champions Danny Garcia (34-1) and Shawn Porter (28-2-1) will square off for the vacant WBC welterweight title. The fight takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY and will be televised by Showtime. The title became vacant when the oft-injured Keith Thurman relinquished the title after being injured again during training for his comeback bout. He still holds the WBA title.

It that wasn’t the most eloquent way of dissing Garcia’s father; I don’t know what was. He basically said no one saw him around going through the rigors of being qualified as a boxing trainer. Talk about taking a shot at Angel. With that being said, Danny turned out ok.

But I am looking forward to this fight. It’s a pick em fight if boxing fans can be honest. This fight can go either way but the pressing and mauling style of Porter will make the fight compelling also. Interested in how Danny will respond to the pressure. Can’t wait to see it!
