Does Kovalev need a new trainer?

Or has he just simply peaked and is now on the downslide?

Never was that good. Strong, tall, good reach, power puncher yes but no great fighter.

New trainers rarely make a huge difference. We always here how they are reinvigorated with the new trainer and then they usually look worse than before. Fighters always blame trainers or problems with weight on their losses

He absolutely needs one. They put him through too long a camp and he clearly lacked the crispness in his striking that he usually has.
His only chance is to seek new coaching, IMO.

He got caught flush by a man who weighed close to 200 pounds.
And I called Alvarez to win this fight. Alvarez has been highly underrated for too long.
Kovalev, in my opinion, still beats Bivol.

When I saw him breathing as hard as he was after the 4th round I thought..."man he has a problem". So I'd say yeah if he wants to carry on and rematch Alvarez then he needs someone to work on his stamina.

Who was his trainer? Some dude he payed $500 to hold mitts during camp? JDJ said he's cheap. He needs to dedicate himself and listen to whomever his trainer is.
