cong**** to the new champ eleider alvarez,I think kovalev is done but a rematch should be intriguing,Kovalev has to admit he got beat and that he's been beat 3 times now to progress as a fighter and a human being..can't be a puny sore loser 4 the rest of his life who keeps blaming others for his mishaps

The two ward defeats I can completely understand why a stubborn person would refuse to accept those defeats but after last night not even a stubborn person could deny the fact that they need to change things.

I wouldnt be completely shocked if he won a rematch as he was ahead on the cards and Alvarez isn’t a known power puncher so I’d be surprised if he stopped him again. Kovalev really needs to work on his conditioning in the second half of the fight if he wants to carry on competing at this level

I know we all want to come out and welcome a new champion. Articles I've read make it seem like he used Kov as a mere stepping stone. Myself and most of the HBO crew were pretty shocked at the single punch turn around. Kov leading on all the cards, and had the momentum at that point. Where did Alvarez get the power to throw that R cross after taking incredible body punishment for 2 solid rounds is anyone's guess. There is definitely a case for a rematch, but not due to any controversy. I think Alvarez was waiting for the storm to pass, or catch Kov after he was a little arm weary.
