    Lack of RIVALRIES nowadays...

Anyone else notice this? The only 2 GREAT rivalries we have had in the last 5 years were gatti-ward and corrales-castillo. And BOTH of those guys got along great when they werent fighting.

Gatti and ward are something like best friends or something!!

And BOTH corrales and castillo have gone on the record saying how well they get along outside the ring.

What happened to these MEGA rivalries that used to start every few years. Ali and Frazier hated eachothers guts!! Their fights were more entertaining because they would have been happy if the other guy died in that ring!!!

Every fighter nowadays has to prove how classy they are and has to make good friends with their opponent!! anyone else feel like this?

      uh. Pac Morales?

      Barerra Morales?

I'm waiting for the mayweather trilogies.

Look out for mayweather - hatton, margarito, etc.

look out for hatton - cotto, castillo

Look out for Cotto - Malignaggi, if he picks himself up

I wonder if Barrera/Juarez II could be the start of something

Tarver/Jones...while the fights left something to be desired, was a rivalry

the Cotto/Hatton/Mayweather/Margarito mix could provide something in the near future...

          Mosley/Vargas II

Its harder to do now then in the old days because it takes so long for these big money guys to fight nowdays.

Yes fight do come together but not like in a snap of a finger.

Infact we have seen a lot of big named fighters or exciting fighters mixing horns lately than before.

                Calzaghe/Lacy
                Corrales/Castillo
                Zab/Tzsyu
                Moralles/Barrera
                Wright/Taylor
                Taylor/Bhops
                Tarver/Jones
                Bhops/Tarver
                Pac/Moralles etc etc

before fight like these happens once or twice a year only.

LOL!!!! Never thought about it quite like that; but yeah, I guess so. Does it help that De La Hoya didn't get along with either Vargas or Mayorga?

Yeah, your right. However Castillo and Corrales fought 3 times in 13 months and it would've been 3 times in 11 months if Corrales didn't injure his ribs during his training for fight #3.
