I was hoping to see some young, strong, overwhilgly gifted talent.

I didn’t see much! I know anyone can have a bad dance, it depends on the partner. But, still, he could have made a big statement...yet failed to do so.

Chilemba is a tricky fighter who was never KO’d. He made everyone look worse than their usual self.

if we are going by kovalev-ward scoring then chilemba beat kovalev so its a pretty good win

I’m a big Chilemba fan.. I know he’s dam near impossible. I’m not going by the ward scoring, even Andre didn’t look that good. But, to me, Bivol looked a bit confused most of the fight.

Listening to the HBO commentary made me wanna turn the sound off. At first it was all about Bivol. Both Lampley and Kellerman was acting like he was the next Roy Jones. They never acknowledged anything Chilemba was doing. And the Compubox count was completed before the fight even started. How the heck they had Chilemba landing in single digits in every round when he was landing all those jabs. When they realized Bivol wouldn't get the stoppage and was actually looking pretty ordinary, they said it was because if Chilemba's height, then the 8 lb weight advantage, then said it was because he Roy Jones in his corner. And Im sorry the fight wasn't as one sided as the final scores. I think Chilemba won at least one of the rounds in the first half and about 3 or 4 in the second half.

Agree about the HBO bias but it's HBO .What do you expect ?
                I had Chilemba winning 4 rounds .
It looked as if after the 4th round Bivol realized Chilemba wasn't going anywhere so he settled down . Which allowed Chilemba to start working his tricky jab and back Bivol up at times .
I have an idea . How about Chilemba for Alvarez's first title defense and Kovalev vs Bivol ( if Kov recovers on time ) . I think those fights would answer Alot of questions .

                  It was a disappointing performance.

The guy is still a little green, he could use more development. That's why it's not always a good idea to rush to a title.
