I doubt it. He didn't get credit for beating Ortiz. When Ortiz was with GB and Hearn, he was a monster that Wilder was ducking and would never fight. Wilder beats him and we get all this talk about Ortiz being old and almost getting KOd. Yet AJ gets all this credit for beating an older inactive Wlad who was coming of a loss and almost KOd AJ.
Would you give Wilder credit for beating Fury this year??

You could say the same about FLoyd coming back after a few years and easily dismantling Marquez. No matter how people want to bring up the size, Marquez dared to be great and thought he could beat an inactive Floyd. Marquez would have never beaten Floyd at any weight even if he was bigger than Floyd. It is always about skill and conditioning. The B*TCHING about Layoffs
Ray Leonard came back from a 3 year layoff jumped right in with Hagler which was his debut at Middleweight. Right after that fight jumped up to 168 to fight Golden Boy Donny Lalonde
Can we stop babying these f*king fighters already! Tyson Fury layoff doesn't take away his skills he is still more Skilled that Wilder and AJ COMBINED! It is all about his Conditioning honestly, if Fury is in great Shape I pick him to beat AJ and Wilder EASILY! It would be great if he could get at least 2 more fights but if he has a great deal on the Table then take it!
You guys want to lower the BAR for these fighters because deep down you know that none of them are great fighters a lot of them are Decent Fighters in a Weak ERAComment

No, Fury should earn should beat a top 10 heavyweight before he can be taken seriously again. He hasn't been in with a live opponent yet and won't it seems before Wilder. He didn't train for 2 years and drank and coked himself up to 350 pounds.Comment

This^^^ except I don't think Wilder beats him. Let's not forget how awkward Fury is in the ring as well and how easy it is to control Wilder with a jab, Gerald Washington and Luis Ortiz showed it can be done. If Fury says he's ready then cool, although I think he should take at least 2 more fights before Wilder I'm not Fury and he knows his own body and progression. Props to Fury if this goes down, dude is extremely confident in himselfHe should get some credit, even if Fury isn't at his best which I doubt he will be. I've always believed that Wilder would beat Fury though, even when this matchup was being talked about 3-4 years ago. Fury may have beaten Klitschko but he barely landed anything significant. I think Wilder knocks him out in the early to mid rounds.Comment

2020 at absolute earliest. u guys are making it sound as if hes been in the gym ready to go in his time out. Most people assumed he was never coming back cause he drunk so much and put on a ridiculous amount of weight. As i said people can have a pop at me but i said its a very long road back before this fight was even linked. THe guys hes fighting arent top 100 fighters. Pianetas ranked 138 and u think hes ready to go from him to wilder?Years?? so give me a year. that was plural. so Fury won't be ready for someone "decent" until 2020 or beyond?? lets fast forward to 2023 if you want. would Fury be more "ready" for the unorthodox, unpredictable Wilder? how so? there's is literally zero opponent out there that can prepare you for that style.Comment

so why is Fury and Frank Warren saying otherwise? they can easily tell Wilder to build it into something bigger down the line. but they want it this year. why? can't be about money because all I been hearing for months is how unknown Wilder is and how little he makes. Fury can be an even bigger diva than AJ is by saying he's still lineal and undefeated and demand crazy money. but he's not doing that.. why?2020 at absolute earliest. u guys are making it sound as if hes been in the gym ready to go in his time out. Yeah the BAR is being Lowered for certain fighters in this Water Down ERA of boxing where fans are more intrigued about the HYPE of a fighter instead of having him actually prove he is the best in the ringYou could say the same about FLoyd coming back after a few years and easily dismantling Marquez. Yes, I would. I don't care about the lay off. The man never looks in shape. He's got his boxing ability regardless. If he can't box Wilder's ears off, then he just never was meant to win. I'd actually pick Fury to potentially win this via UD as Wilder might have a very hard time landing anything clean on him.Comment
