Is Canelo a better Danny Garcia?

I don't see Canelo coming down to 147 or even agreeing to a catch weight.

After all Canelo is the big PPV draw at 154 and the A-side.

Swift lost to Keith "One time" Thurman. He faces "Showtime" Shawn Porter in about 5 weeks.

I don't see him beating Canelo at 154. In fact I don't see him going the distance in a loss!

It took Canelo over a year to gain enough bulk to go from 154 to 160! By the look of his body I honestly highly doubt he can go back to 154!

I'm a huge Canelo fan, but he has many similarities with underperforming Danny G.

Both guys have several asterisks in their careers. Both guys dont jab well and rely on counter punching, timing, and body work. Hell their physical builds are even somewhat similar.

Danny G could've lost to Herrera, Judah, and even LP. Canelo had razor close fights with Lara, Trout, and GGG with conspiracist Trump supporters even suggesting Cotto beat Canelo (lol).

Thoughts?

I had it 116-112. I felt Cotto did his best work ~rounds 5-8.

I view Danny Garcia as a more naturally gifted fighter than Canelo. On the other hand, Canelo may have done more with his gifts by 1) being a "weight bully" (in other words, using careful matchmaking and extreme dieting and de-and-rehydrating to consistently enter the ring larger than his opponents--often significantly so), 2) always training properly for each and every fight and knowing how to fight each opponent 3) Using PEDs.

Generally speaking, Garcia seems to me a much more fluid and improvisational fighter; Canelo strikes me as robotic by comparison, but more disciplined.
