But say Garcia goes up straight after the Lipinets fight, what is being said about this fight? Is it still the same? Or people will say Garcia is only going up one more weight class?

Definitely, he's strong at 135 and 140 looks like his peak. But if he went up to 147 after two consecutive fights at 140, at least people couldn't say he is coming up from 135. Still would be the heavy underdog regardless.

Not faulting Spence at all. But is Spence fighting Garcia all that different than Crawford facing Gamboa? Gamboa had one fight at LW, one fight at SFW, and six fights at FW coming into the fight. Would Garcia need to fight just a fringe contender at WW for the fight to be more acceptable?
