Top rank New deal until 2025

Top rank ratings (aside from the pacquiao) fight have done similar to PBC ratings on ESPN. Why would ESPN. Make a new deal with TR because they want their library.
The library is more valuable to espn than the actual live fights because they can pick any fight they want to broadcast which means they can pick the best fights and because results are already predetermined they know when the fights going to end.

ESPN new deal hasn't been made a big deal about because Top rank didn't get the best deal.

PBC was primarily a time buy, whereas Top Rank’s deal is a different model. In that sense it’s like comparing apples to oranges

I am not comparing their deals. I am comparing how and why one was able to get a deal and the other wasn't.

I.e. my point on their similar ratings

I don’t know the details of the extension. I do know the original deal is a time buy with very little in the way of financing coming in from the network.

Only thing I can think of is content and maybe exclusive rights? PBC put on cards on other networks and maybe Loma and Crawford are bound to ESPN? That’s all I can think of

They’re definitely buying time, but my point was that the model isn’t strictly “we pay for the hour and you give it to us”, I believe there are other things in the deal than a standard time buy. I just can’t remember what they are

ESPN puts out a terrible product in regards to boxing.

The cameras they are are trash and low quality, Commentary is low quality, and the fights are sub par(minus a few)

A few people on this sight have said the first deal top rank got was basically a 360 deal. Where top rank is getting a small rights fee and ESPN is getting access to their fight library among other things.

Even Dana white said that top ranks deal is overrated.
