  • Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: I'm Stronger, Faster, Better Than Shawn Porter

In the midst of an argument during their press conference Monday, Danny Garcia gave a blunt, succinct assessment of why he'll beat Shawn Porter on September 8 at Barclays Center. "I'm stronger than him," Garcia said Monday while seated on a stage at a Manhattan hotel. "I've got bigger punching power than him. I'm faster than him. I'm a better all-around fighter than him."

I watched the press conference, and i will admit I'm a huge Danny fan, but just his demeanor is totally different. He seems like a fighter that's absolutely sure he belongs now, when before he had doubts. Could be just me, but it seems Danny is locked in and will school porter

I never liked Danny but he’s slowly growing on me, I think it was just his dad bugged me. He’ll boss Porter, too strong.

Garcia is a lot stronger in close than people give him credit for. He's pretty smart in there and has excellent timing and counter punches. Porter was completely thrown off when Brook could match him inside and also initiated clinches. Garcia has form with being good too like that.

I think it will be close and hard fought but Garcia will have a decided edge because he'll land the more eye catching shots and he won't be bullied.

You have fighters like Spence and Crawford now and Mikey Garcia would more than likely beat Danny so for me he's one of the second raters in there like Porter.....the division has moved on they had their chance.

He sure looked bigger than Porter today wearing a simple silk shirt.

Whatever Garcia. If that’s the case why did you avoid him the first time and picked instead a fighter on the brink of retirement “ Rios”.

I second this, but the only issue with Danny is that he doesn't have the same stamina Brook has which caused Porter to be dumbfounded at times(He's used to wearing down his opponents). But otherwise, he should have the edge for sure.
