I don't know if it has to be immediate (the challenge) or if he can have a couple tuneups at HW before making the call out. Perhaps somebody can answer that one.

But that's how you have guys like Loma, Crawford, getting title shots in their first fight after moving up in weight. If it weren't for the WBSS, Inoue would likely have called out Tete already.

... the reason I started this thread is because I saw Bellew at about 260lb on Saturday...

Usyk doesn't have the power or chin to even keep a lot of these big guys off of him at hw. I dont want to see him get hurt. At some point, weight trumps skill.

You could be right. I think Usyk is one of the most skilled guys at that size I have ever seen. Obviously power is an issue but the thing about power is it only matters if it lands flush. Usyk can use his movement and defense to negate the power.

If he is successful doing that and gets to the last 3 rounds, AJ or wilder will be so tired that usyk will be able to win rounds big.

                Intriguing matchups IMO.

... tbh, Usyk simply can't deal with those huge heavyweights like Joshua, Wilder or Fury... (just watch him fighting Joe Joyce)...

                    I agree with that.

I think I misread your previous post. I thought you didn't think a Bellew fight was a good idea.

I am an Usyk fan and I think he has earned the right to pick his next fight. I think fighting Bellew is a waste of his time and skills. He would slaughter Bellew in my opinion but what would he have accomplished except to make some money? Bellew is not ranked in the top 10 at either heavyweight or cruiserweight. I think Usyk can beat AJ and Wilder and those are the fights I want for him. If he stays at cruiserweight then I want him to continue to fight the top cruiserweight contenders and Bellew isn't one of them. If Bellew beats a top cruiserweight and earns a high rating then fight him.
