In order to beat bigger guys, you need to exceptional at something. Whether it be defensive ability in the case of Floyd. Or the speed and power that Manny carried us the scale. Etc, etc, etc. And even though he’s very good at a lot of things, Mikey isn’t special at anything that he can lean on while being overmatched physically. He’s very skilled. But not skilled enough to fight a perfect fight against Spence. He’s fast, but not fast enough to overwhelm Spence. He’s a good puncher......as a featherweight and lightweight. But didn’t seem to carry his power up when he was in with Lipinets. And I doubt he punches hard enough to keep Spence honest. Which means even if Mikey can outbox Spence, he won’t be able to keep Errol off him. Which means Mikey is likely to take a sustained beating to the head and body.

The guy is in full control of his career and is making wise moves.
I forsee him fighting Spence (probably losing) but beating the WBSS 140 winner after (Prograis), and eventually Loma too (at whatever weight).
He's just that good. I really don't understand the hate for the guy. Great family, great pedigree, and we'll mannered/spoken. It's easy to root for the guy imo.
He didn't shy away from Errol Spence questions and he didn't make excuses he just answered with confidence and assurity and he didn't back down so clearly he has every intention of fighting the welterweight terminator.
My respect for him just went up by levels.

He'll do this to solidify his status in the Latino community as the true best talent for their culture, then he'll go back down and wreck those guys at 135 and 140, but then he'll get paid the way he deserves to be paid.
This is a smart move from him. He's been very methodical about this. This is a business too and some people forget that. He doesn't want to keep getting $1 million dollar fights. He's going for it.

What's wrong with Spence taking a PPV fight in the meantime while he waits for the winner?

While his braindead fans continue to say this is the best fight possible even though Spence walks around at 190lbs. While most Garcia has is 140.
