i can't stand watching brock fight...
i second that. his skills are minimal.

but, worse than watching brock fight is listening to the new hbo commentators. they are really goddamn annoying. i couldn't imagine a worse group of commentators.

PS: Enadeus + Boxing2005: Why didnt you want to bet on Timor?
Wait, are you telling me you seriously thought Brock had a good shot at beating Lyakovivh? They are on completly different levels bro, he doesn't even deserve a fight with Lyakovich at the time.

PS: Because Timor has been known to be the less talented of the Ibragimov cousins.

I'd slightly favor brock to be serge. serge has got his name off beating an out of shape brewster who barely got past meehan. he's already been stopped by mo harris. I think brock vs lyakowich is a very good competitive matchup

Brewster is my favorite Heavyweight and I will tell you he was not fighting a bad fight in his bout with Lyakovich. Lyakovich was just able to absorb Brewsters bombs and fight on to a UD.

Brock never impresses, never! He gets a KO after not doing anything over the entire fight, except he got a UD this time and now people are questioning him. Well Im being a little harsh, but from the fights Ive seen he is a boring boxer.

Its also a bad matchup for Brock if they met, Brock has decent power thats what he relies on moreso than his footwork or combos. If Lyakovich could withstand 12 rounds with Brewster and still pull off a UD, I dont see Brock troubling him.

Now if Brewster fights Brock and the winner is the mandatory for Lyakovich, then THAT will please every boxing fan! Thats a great idea right there!

Id rather see Brewster / Lyakovich II, thats on my most wanted list right next to Mayweather / DLH at 147 (I know it wont happen) and Hatton /Cotto at any weight.

you can see flashes of great boxing ability with brock, hes got power and hurt timur a few times. the fight was boring as hell, but you can thank timur for 85% of that, he clinched the whole fight, so much that i almost stopped watching the fight. i think against a guy who actually fights brock could do some damage

Ibragimov could make anyone look ugly. The guy was holding for his dear life the whole fight. He must've went to the John Ruiz school of boxing. Whenever Brock would try to push Timur away or back away to create room, Timur would just walk forward and stay Brock's chest not doing anything.

Brock is a good fighter, but Wlad would own him badly with stiff jabs and crosses. Make no mistake though, guys like Rahman and Brewster would in no way dominate Brock.
I totally agree with u that brock will be able to outbox him, but I really think that this will be the krasniquie(sp?) scenario, where Brock would outbox him for 9 rounds and then Brewster will land one of his hail marys.
Brock's defense is very suspect to me.

Brock needs to fight a guy that is going to step forward and actually fight. The fight with ettine was great and exciting. The mcline fight was really good as well. Its really hard to look good aginst guys like timur and lawrance because they are deffencive fighters and make other fighters look bad. Brock also has really decent boxing skills so he is not going to just go tare into a guy like sam peter is forced to do. Put Brock in with a guy who will come and try to make a fight and you will se what brock is about. I think brock needs to fight barret or at least the barret that fought mesi. Or he could fight briggs that would be a good fight. Briggs has more power and both have similar skills but brock has a better chin and much more heart. Darvarl williamson or danny williams would be a good fight as well. There is no way that brock can beat klischko outside of a punchers chance.

they would both make each other look good and who ever won the bout would shoot up on fan lists in what would be a great fight

While a 29-0 record is notable, I honestly don't think we'd be talking about Brock as much if he didn't have this on his passport: . The urge for him to become a serious contender is puzzling, as while he might be "the last best hope" for American heavyweights, he's somewhat cumbersome and frequently in dull fights, both of which were in evidence last night. That said, he can't take the blame for all of it, and I had him winning by 117-111.

I've just one question - Lennox, what IS a "ball of fish"?

There is no way Brock would stop Brewster.
Brock is good, but he is boring.
I see him decisioning Brewster, Lyukovitch, Toney and perhaps Rahman, depending on the night.
Id like to see Wlad fight Valuev so we can get rid of that giant freak and then Toney, Rahman, Brock, Brew and Sergei can figure out whats going on with the WBC and WBO belts.
But then again, Rahman needs to get past Maskev and Sergei needs to beat McBride.
There will be some interesting developments in the HW division in the next 6 months.
