Why haven't we seen another Tommy Hearns?

Tommy Hearns was a special fighter. He was tall, long, and he knew how to keep distance and follow up the jab with a monstrous right hand, hooks, and body shots. Why is it so hard for talented long fighters like imam and Easter Jr to do the same? Tonight, against Mikey, all Easter Jr did was jab and not follow up with any hooks or right hand. Easter would be a great fighter if he followed up the jab with a right hand or hooks in a consistent manner. Is this due to lack of coaching? Or has boxing just become another sport where modern-day fighters are not as great as past fighters?

With his physical abilities and world class skills, he's a rare talent. Fighters like him don't come along that often.

      Shoulder strength .
Tommy was freakishly strong . These guys need to train like Tommy did .
He used to do decline pushups with his fists in the hundreds a day.

Tommy had the best left hoot to the body from a distance ever .
It was a thing of beauty.
Loved Tommy back in the days.

Even Paul Williams knew to throw combinations off the jab. I honestly think boxing, on a skill level, is dead.

I don't think strength has anything to do with it. I honestly think boxing has just regressed.

Boxing has been regressing since they cut down title fights to 12 rounds, mandated 20 by 20 rings and heavier gloves .

These days all you need to do is win the punch stats for 7 rounds.

                Thanks.
                Tommy was a freak.
He hit so hard, he always hurt his hands.
He still loved those sleek Reyes gloves though.

He used to spar against light heavyweight when he was still a welter. He just freaking hit too hard for a welter .

Hell, he fought a middleweight after he lost to Leonard ( undercard of Ali-Berbick fight ).

Why haven’t we seen another Shaq in the NBA? why do we see 7 footers dribbling like a pg and can shoot the ball anywhere like durant now and not in the past?

Some athletes are rare and special. You gotta have to wait a whole lot longer for someone like them to exactly show up again. You gotta have to settle with replicas a tier lower like Kobe to Mj.

Even if Easter fought smartly as he could, he still wouldn’t have the power that made Hearn even special.

20 years now we’d hear the same
Why no fighter fights like Prime Pac? Or as smart as floyd?
