Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz Destroys Cojanu With Devastating Left in Two

LOS ANGELES Luis Ortiz obliterated Razvan Cojanu on Saturday night. In his first fight since Deontay Wilder stopped him in their heavyweight championship match, the Cuban contender knocked out Romania's Cojanu in the second round at Staples Center. Ortiz drilled the 6-feet-7, 269-pound Cojanu with a straight left to the middle of his face, which dropped his huge opponent with just over a minute to go in the second round.

Always nice to see a boxer from the early 90s beat up on the new bloods.

Whyte won, Ortiz won. Let's make it happen! Although Whyte wants no part of Ortiz.

I'd like to see a rematch with Wilder. I bet it would sell.

Jim Gray said one thing during his interview with Ortiz that I agree with. He basically said he doesn’t believe Wilder will fight Ortiz again. He doesn’t believe Joshua will fight him at all. Ortiz may retire without another title shot unless someone beats Joshua & Wilder. He is fighting for money now basically at 39. And he only got around $200k for this fight. Sucks, but he had his title shot w/Wilder.

Ortiz Vs Whyte should be the next logical fight
