    Replay System Needed In Boxing

A replay system needs to be play in boxing and it needs to be implemented ASAP. If there was a replay system, then today's fight ends in a draw instead of a Whyte win. There was a three point difference between a head butt that should never have been called a knockdown. Also gives the ref a better idea if a cut was caused by a head butt or a punch. There needs to be neutral official just looking at the replays and making the call during the one minute break.

Just watching Roman/Barrios, the ref called the cut on Barrios a punch when it was from a head butt.

It is almost impossible for the ref to catch everything, especially depending on the angle they are at.

    Thoughts?

It shouldn't slow anything down since a neutral official will be over looking it and would relay it to the ref to let the judges/broadcasting crew know what really happened. The broadcasting crew is always able to catch it in between rounds and the official will have the same clips. Just makes too much sense for it to be implemented.

Your right. It probably makes too much sense for it to be done in boxing.

I agree, they can check questionable calls between rounds and nothing slows down.

Or a second ref is watching on the video and can bring that **** to the refs attention between rounds.

I don't want the ref to check this in between rounds, I want an outside official to be overlooking this. They will have the same exact clips and angles that the broadcasting crew have. So they could relay it to the official before the round starts, or at worst in between the following round. This isn't like the NFL or NBA where it will slow the game down as everything will happen from an outside official.

I think it's a good idea. I remember in Pacquiao Barrera I when Pacquiao when down on a slip that was ruled a knockdown and thinking how illogical that it be scored 10-8 when the replay shows otherwise.

Remember Barrera vs JMM missed KD? Boxing is so outdated it ticks me off. At least have a replay system for these big cards.
