Comments Thread For: Jose Ramirez vs. Antonio Orozco Official For September 14

Ramirez, the pride of California's Central Valley, will make the first defense of his WBC super lightweight title against Antonio "Relentless" Orozco on Friday, Sept. 14 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. Ramirez was originally scheduled to defend his title at the Save Mart Center on July 7 against Danny O'Connor, but the bout was canceled after O'Connor was hospitalized for severe dehydration before the weigh-in.

Excellent fight for Champion Ramirez and one of the best challengers in the division. Orozco is better then some of the over hyped guys out there.

        Good matchup.

I have been critical of the ESPN - Top Rank partnership. IMO, if you give exclusivity to a promoter (any promoter), they will eventually start giving you showcases.

After a good beginning, ESPN/TR has started to give us alot of crap. They've scoured the globe to find unworthy challengers for Zurdo. Jose Ramirez' last opponent was completely unworthy, they should have just wheeled him in from the hospital, it would have been pretty much the same fight.

But this is a great challenging matchup. Keep it up ESPN, or else I'll stop watching.

This fight alone is better than anything the 140 tournament offers.

So this is better than Taylor vs Prograis? No it is not! Just remember the tourney couldve been better if TR wasnt scared to put their guys in it.
