Is it really a choice that Robert Easter Jr doesnt fight long?

I know people say he's tall, has a long reach, so he could fight well outside, and he just chooses not to, or isn't smart enough to. But from watching him a little more, I'm not sure he could. To fight outside, you need a good jab, you need good footwork. Someone with a 73 inch reach with a great jab is going to be a lot better at fighting long than someone with a 76 inch reach like Easter who doesn't have a great jab.

And watching him, I dont see a very snappy jab, and I dont see great legs either.

That’s exactly why it will be Garcia all night long
      Probably a late ko
Easter just does not have the power imo
He needs to be in a close ( phone booth ) that is where he can land his shots and maybe , that’s a big fughin maybe , he can hurt his opponent
His jab won’t keep anyone at bay

I saw an interview recently where K.Cunningham (His New trainer) said something to the effect of them working on him fighting on the outside. So he obviously saw an issue in that department.

While the conventional logic is that being taller means you should fight long where possible and ignore the inside, but I do think being long and tall can confer advantages on the inside as well as the outside - in particular it's easier to find angles to hit body shots behind the opponent's elbows, and you can lean on the other guy and wear him down faster. I think Easter knows this too as he likes to brawl more than box if his previous fights are much to go by. I think he's between a rock and a hard place here though, I think Garcia will be too sharp to fight at close range, but while he has the physique for a long range fight, I don't know if he has the right skillset for it, he'll be adopting a style he's not used to. I think he'll only have a real chance if he's had an on-point training camp and comes in with a great gameplan that he'll stick to. Ultimately, he's just a good fighter while Garcia looks like a special fighter.

I think that will be his only chance, fighting on the inside
That’ll be the only place where he will get the opportunity to **** the body and get that occasional hook to the head
Mikey will have the better footwork and will be able to manage the onslaught
Easter will make this some kind of dirty fight , a lot of roughhousing

Most tall fighters that fight short usually suffer from bad trainers. Or never had their style corrected by their trainers and was just a style that they allowed them to use instead of giving them a style that was tailored to their body type.
There's a reason taller guys that are swarmers have limited skill (Hurd,Margarito,Paul Williams,Iran barkley, etc)

Unless his trainer made alot of improvements he will have a hard time against Garcia. I don't understand how he let Fortuna get inside his reach anytime he wanted to.
