I don't know for sure but my guess is he saw that he could make money win easy fights like Clottey so Arum steered him to the in house easy fight rather than Floyd.
I disagree. He saw Floyd's offer had gone up significantly so he turned the $40 mil offer down figuring the longer he waited the more he'd get.
He tried the "take an easy fight to get a win" again but it backfired when JMM caught him (in a fight with no VADA testing) and KHTFO!!
