just because he was the mandatory doesn't mean he deserved to be. He didn't beat anyone credible to earn that it was based on his name recognition. Just like how they let pac vs Margarito be for their belt or let Canelo get a belt by fighting Matthew hatton. They often go on name value. Floyd fighting berto was bs but by that point he already had the big fight with pac and was just looking to fulfill his final fight on his showtime contract. Khans style makes it difficult for anyone, for about 3 rounds and then elite fighters figure him out. It would've been the same deal with Floyd, he'd figure khan out and khan would get washed and would land any of his sloppy combos.

Deserve is subjective but you are right to some extent he only really beat Alexander and a washed up collazo at 147 and his win over chris algeri was sloppy and gave floyd that excuse to fight someone else.
