Um what? Fighting Liam Smith and small Sadam Ali is walking through the lions den? Since when? Walking through the lions den is what Usyk is doing, not Jaime Munguia. Lets pump the brakes a bit. Tank and Munguia have fought similar level of opponents thus far.

Munguia is young, that's why we need to give him time to develop. He already is clearly beating solid guys like Liam Smith which is a good sign. Until he starts fighting guys like Lara/Hurd/Charlo, lets not say he is walking through the lions den.

Liam smith is a fringe top 10 guy. It's a good step up for Munguia. I dont see anything special in him other than his chin, size, and power, but we could all say the same for Hurd. And Hurd found a way to beat Lara.

Guys like Margarito and William's were similar 10-12 years ago. At some point Munguia and Hurd's Chins will crack.

Oscar is in dire need of a new star this guy needs to take his time or he will be KOed very soon. he has talent and size but his punches are too wide and his defense is terrible.

Only thing to hate about this kid is his defense. But he is still a kid. I’m excited to see more of him

He won the belt from a much smaller Sadam Ali & defended it against a skilled but feather-fisted Smith. The kid has power and some skill, but virtually no defense. He's also not very fast and loads up to get the KO, which leaves him very vulnerable to a harder counter-puncher. He has a lot to learn. I think it will be tough for him to learn the lessons he needs to learn while holding on to his belt.

He's not with Oscar though. They had options on his next fight, or maybe even two, but he is with Zanfer. If Oscar can promise him a Canelo fight, then it would be best for him to sign with GBP once the options are up. If not, almost every notable 154 pounder is with Haymon, so Munguia could get in the SHO/PBC business. He definitely has options as he is young and as exciting as one fighter could be.

So true lol, its okay for them to baby step their career etc never fight nobody but the moment someelse does it they try to play victime and cry about it.

I always think its funny, how some fighters take Charlo for instance, he was a nobody and pretty much still is hasnt fought anybody built and got his experience on being on undercards fighting fights he could win gaining experience and now he seems to be polished but now he calling mungunia a bum and called the beefy/mungunia fight trash lmfao beef is as equal if not more of a fighter/fight than trout was lol and had charlo fought trout at 21 years old he would have been stopped! FACTS

but they dont see it that way they just see it, cause to admit that will be to admit hes better than you than you were at that age.
