Right Now...Give me Hurd CONVINCINGLY! Mungia now has the Championship and a respectable 1st Title Defense I think whoever is handling him should dial him back a bit and stay on the WBO side of things for a few more fights. Needs A LOT of work on that Defense before jumping in with the likes of Hurd or Jermell Charlo!

Hurd is a volume volume puncher that wears you down. Lara started huffing and puffing around the 4th round. He was able to last because he's a far superior boxer to the likes of Smith.

Munguia is a big body with a decent body attack but he crashes into his opponents and is wide with his punches. Hurd is a much better boxer although he gets hit. He also throws a lot of deceptively thudding punches. Watch his last 3 fights and watch how each of them start fading at some point during the fight.

Smith was in no danger of fading even though he was getting hit to the body (a lot of them blocked) a lot.

What the heck were you watching Smith was on the verge of being stopped a few times ***** even his corner started say we’re giving you one more rd it’s just that smith showed heart.

Lara literally lost that fight by one point and weee talking about a Lara who is no longer I his prime.

Like I said Hurd has below average power that’s why it takes him so long to wear someone down and stop him, against a guy like mungia who’s gonna be in hurds face will bust him up badly

Smith was never in danger of being stopped. He got rocked maybe once early and that was it. The final score in the Lara fight didn't reflect the fight. Hurd was the one dictating the fight... Lara fought well because of experience but he got broke down and was on the verge of being stopped before the fight ended.

Munguia is too sloppy and inexperienced. He hits hard because he's a LHW on fight night but hitting hard will only get him so far. He's gotta a better chance against Charlo but he couldn't take the punches Smith was landing on him from Jermell.

For that fighting style, Hurd is basically a more refined version of Mungia.

Difference is in power Hurd does not have mungia type power he stops you in accumulation Munguia on the other hand can end it with one shot
Munguia throws wider punches. Hurd is stopping and dropping guys that usually go the distance with other fighters. The power seems to be about the same to me. It may look different because of their opposition. like Ali was a welterweight fight and light heavy that night. They are both volume punchers. Both threw over 800 punches in their last fights (about the same per round too). Liam Smith said that Munguia is not as big a puncher as Canelo. I saw Munguia head snap back a few times too, and that was from getting hit by a guy with only 14 KO's. Hurd also looked good against Lara, anbd not to many fighters can say they did that. I think Lara beats Munguia if they fight.
