    Usyk vs. Kovalev?

I'd watch that chit. But would it be another mismatch?

considering the 25lb+ size advantage, I'd say it's likely a mismatch.

It isn't unheard of for a fighter to move between Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight. Believe it or not, there was even a time when fighters would move straight from Light Heavyweight to Heavyweight.

        Usyk would confuse Kovalev.
His output would be too much especially for a smaller guy.

Battle of the jabs, Usyk wins that battle due to size and reach advantage, Kovalev does even worse than Gassiev.

Oh, I know. I was making a joke.

Most of the people who jumped from LHW straight to HW were when HW started at 176, but RJJ comes to mind jumping straight to LHW to HW.

The gap between 175 and 200 is the biggest in boxing. You have 2 excellent pfp fighters but one is lean and hard at 25 pounds more than the other. Kovalev might weigh more in the ring for a cruiserweight fight but Usyk would still outweigh him a lot and be the much bigger and stronger man naturally. It might not be a mismatch but I think Usyk's size and power would make him the winner. The way they both fight would make it a good fight.

This is true of course. You asked about two fighters we all know well. They are both very good but Usyk is much bigger and when the fighters are close in ability the bigger fighter usually wins. Light heavyweight Spinks won a heavyweight world title over old Holmes with a close points win. When Spinks fought a young Tyson he only lasted a minute of the first round. A big Cruiserweight weighs maybe 220 pounds on fight night. A cruiserweight might as well be a heavyweight without the extra blubber many heavyweights fight with these days.
