Probably better for business if he at least cleans out JMW or at a minimum unifies with one of the other champs.

It would suck if he just left JMW and went on to fight Lemuix and then Canelo in May-but that certainly could happen.

Put him on the Canelo-GGG 2 card against a MW and if Canelo wins there's your Cinco De Mayo fight in 2019

I would've thought so but let's see how well he does v someone that isn't a C level Welterweight first.

He's still very unproven really. Beating Liam Smith in good fashion will definitely be a step in the direction though.

If he does prove himself more and builds a good Mexican following then it's a potential big fight for sure.

I don't see how Munguía can beat Canelo in the next 5-7 years

I have been thinking about that a lot. Canelo is an old favorite of mine and Munguia is a new favorite of mine. Canelo beat Smith but Smith put up a pretty good fight even if he did lose every round and was KOed. Let's see how Munguia does against Smith compared to how Canelo did against Smith.

I think Oscar will avoid having his two best fighters fighting each other for as long as possible. They are knock out fighters and if either of them gets knocked out their value goes down.
