You'll definitely watch that fight lol. No doubt about it. It'll be a great night lol, sold out arena people cheering, great atmosphere. Not like those pathetic American cards where the atmosphere is dull and the place is half empty.

If AJ destroys Wilder then I think he will be the face of the sport, even ahead of Canelo.

Nobody is denying he does pretty good numbers but he is not synonymous with boxing when you ask sports fans around the world about boxing.

Unless you truly follow the sport, Canelo is basically unknown and has no real crossover appeal. Don't believe HBO, they have been desperate for a face of boxing and superstar since Floyd left them and Manny was no longer the fighter he once was. Canelo isn't a superstar, he's just the biggest active name in boxing in USA/Mexico right now, but that doesn't mean much in the current climate.
He is the biggest boxing name period for a boxer who is still currently fighting .

AJ isn't this god you seem to have elevated him up to.
          This is absolutely false .

There is ALWAYS someone that brings interest and represents the sport and its SUPPOSED to be a HW !

From Jack Johnson to Mike Tyson !

The few exceptions was Mayweather and ?

Joshua isnt the face of boxing YET but hes sure to be that by 2020 and he WILL be one of if not THE most popular fighter in history bc of a social media era combined with knocking guys out at an imposing 6'6 245/250 figure !

AJ and Canelo are obviously the faces of boxing.

GGG deserves an honourable mention as well.

But other guys like Wilder have some clout too and we shouldn't discount them just because they make chump change and aren't as big!!

Canelo, the guy who's PPV sales drop by about 60% when he hasn't got a big name to face? the guy who's tickets v the likes of Kirkland and Smith go for $10 on the day of the fight because they can't sell them? that's not a face of boxing, no way. Imagine getting tickets for a Floyd or Manny fight for $10 when they were the faces of boxing? lol, never going to happen

AJ is incredibly consistent with high PPV sales and selling out stadium after stadium fight. Not known outside of the UK though.

Anyway, back on topic. Wilder's popularity is not a patch on Joshua and doesn't deserves anything close to 50%.
Great Post. AJ is massive in the UK and is undoubtedly the face of boxing here, but the sport doesn't have a Mayweather anymore unfortunately.

Nelo is known more & has made more than Aj. Keep wishing though.
